I’m a sucker for goofy music and musicians – and one of my favorite weirdo bands from the 1980s was Devo.

With their oddball hats, one-piece jumpsuits, and practically catatonic lyrics, they achieved national fame after an appearance on Saturday Night Live. Performing one week after the Rolling Stones did their thing, Devo wowed the crowd with their cover version of “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction.”

The band had some hits, including their biggest: “Whip It”. After a long career spanning decades, they were nominated for entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.

I’m betting many still have a vinyl copy of their most famous album, “Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!” with the fantastic yellow cover decorated with the image of PGA golfer Chi-Chi Rodríguez.

But the band has just released a new bit of paraphernalia perfect for the times:

Energy dome face shields for coronavirus protection

According to their website,

“The dome is solid, and the attached shield is clear, but it’s what you can’t see that gets you!  Stay safe from invisible particles and unwanted bodily fluids in this coordinated, disease-blocking, Devo Energy Dome PPE kit headgear. The shield attaches to your Energy Dome via Velcro. It’s simple and it’s safe!”

All for the bargain price of $49.98.

If you ask me, that totally beats a boring old Stones T-Shirt.

One thing you need to whip into shape is your portfol call at 513-563-PLAN (7526) or book online to set up a rockin’ review.
